Thermometer, pen-style pocket test, digital type, 2-3/4" (69.9mm) stem length, 3/4" (19mm) tip, -40 to 3920F/-40 to 2000C temperature capacity, 120F/10C from 140 to 2120F (-100 to 1000C) 130F (1.50C)

The Cooper-Atkins DPP400W-0-8 pen-style dual-range digital thermometer is used for monitoring temperature in food service applications. It measures temperature from -40 to +392 degrees F (-40 to +200 degrees C), with an accuracy of + or - 2 degrees F from 14 to 212 degrees F and + or - 3 degrees F outside this range. Its stainless-steel stem-style probe is 2.75" long and has a thermistor sensor in the reduced penetration tip for taking measurements while immersed in liquid or air. It has Minimum/Maximum temperature memory and Hold modes to retain high and low readings. The ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic housing material has an anti-microbial additive to help deter bacterial growth. The unit operates on a single 1.5V battery, and turns off automatically after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. It has a low-battery indicator that signals when the battery needs to be replaced. It is Ingress Protection certified to IPX7 for protection against immersion in water up to 1m. The NSF (formerly National Sanitation Foundation) listing indicates compliance with applicable safety standards, and the European Conformity (CE) marking indicates compliance with applicable European Union (EU) directives. It comes with a protective sheath with pocket clip, a battery, and instructions. Digital thermometers are instruments used to measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces electronically. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Most digital thermometers use thermistors, which are small electronic resistors made out of metals that conduct electricity within a certain range and become more conductive the warmer they get. A microcontroller inside the thermometer measures this electrical conductivity and converts it to a temperature, which is displayed on an LCD. Digital thermometers are used in a wide range of applications, including in laboratory settings, food service and storage, and in doctors' offices and hospitals. Cooper-Atkins manufactures time, temperature, and humidity instruments for industrial, HVAC/R, health care, and food safety applications. The company, founded in 1884, is headquartered in Middlefield, CT.
